Character Information
Character Name: Dru
Species: Dru is a meteor-enhanced human

History of Dru:
Dru was born September 20, 2020, and was abandoned by her birth mother. The Puerto Rican heritage had them labeled as cursed by their mother and their culture. The other struggle that the twins faced was the fact that Dru hardly spoke to anyone, except for her brother. And most of the time it was like her brother could read her mind, and spoke for her.

It was difficult to find them a home until Clark and April came into their lives. April developed a connection quickly because she sensed the telepathy powers that were growing in the young minds of the twins.

When Dru does speak it is in soft tones, that whisper so quietly that one has to pay attention very carefully. Dru is the stronger telepath between herself and Drake, but she dislikes her powers quite intensily. She is often scared of what others will think of her, that she will be labelled a freak (and quite often struggles with these problems in her school).

Often people will mistake Dru as the youngest child of Drake and April, when in fact the youngest is Martha. At age 14, Dru is entering junior high school next year and she is quite scared of what that will mean.

World History:
Even though Dru and her brother were abandoned as babies, she still remembers those early years and has a fear of abandonment. The orphanage where they stayed was a good one, that treated them with kindess and love. But it was hard for anyone to adopt twins, especially twins that were rumored to have strange abilities. It scared a lot of prospective parents off.

Dru and Drake joined the Kent family in 2022. It was quite an adjustment for the twins to get used to their older siblings, all who had powers of their own. Then soon after the adoption of Dru and Drake, the Kents adopted another child named Martha, who had no powers at all.

A passion for drawing has allowed Dru some voice, as she will often sketch out things she sees in a private journal. She also writes poetry that expresses her emotions, the ones that she is afraid to vocally express. A shy, and quiet child, Dru has not escaped the notice of some bullies at her school who tease her and make her feel alienated. The hardest thing for her to do is stand up for herself, and so often that job falls to Drake, and gets him in trouble.

Why this character: I see Dru as a flower waiting to bloom fully into her powers and grow stronger as a person. She would find Narnia as a place that accepts her, a place that could be her second home.

Personality:
If one doesn't note Dru right away, that is because the young girl really doesn't want to be noticed. She is very quiet, and often uses her telepathy abilities to blend into the background. She often feels scared of being abandoned again, even though she was too young to remember being left as a toddler. And there is some nervousness in her heart of having her meteor-enhanced powers, when all she wants in life is to be normal. To not be feared.

Dru usually won't speak to a person, unless she senses a kind spirit. Someone that will be understanding and accepting of her. Even those times when she does sense a kind spirit, Dru often takes her time and chooses her words carefully.

Most of her emotions are expressed in her poetry, which she keeps hidden even those members in her family. The only member of her family who has read the poems is Dru's mother April, and that is because they have a special bond especially since they share a similar power. Dru's telepathy is sensitive to emotions of those around her. She can't read thoughts, but that doesn't mean she won't have the ability to when she gets older.

When Dru is first introduced to the world of Narnia she would be scared, but curious about it. She would likely think of it as a way to escape her own world and those bullies that make her life so difficult. But even she knows that there is no true escape in life, and that there is something more to Narnia. Dru would timidly explore the new world, and she could even find new friends that would accept her for who she is, inside and out.

Samples:
First Person Sample:
They laughed at me today. They tried to hide it behind their hands and their books, but I heard the laughter. Felt it in my heart.

It broke. Again and again. Each laugh a little dagger in my heart.

They do not know me. So they laugh. And I want to hide. Find somewhere quiet to go and hide away from the laughter.

There is a place where there are no bullies. No laughter to hurt me. A place where dreams can come true and I can be me. They do not hear me, they will never hear me because they do not listen.

Will they ever understand. Will they ever hear me? Hear others as they cry out to be understood and heard. Is there a place for me? Will I find it?

Third Person Sample:
Things were tense at home. Both Martha and Drake were in trouble and were grounded. William had been quiet the past couple of nights, Laura was busy studying for a big final exam, and Jonathan was having troubles finding a part for one of his projects. All of the siblings were in their rooms, and Dru felt uncertain where to go. She shared a room with Martha, but couldn't stand the complaining from her younger sister anymore. And what was worse was that her telepathy was picking up on all of the unspoken thoughts from each sibling.
Softly, she tiptoed down to the kitchen, where mother and father were having a late-night talk about what to do about the problems that were recently caused by Martha and Drake. Dru didn't eavesdrop because she knew it was wrong. She waited in the living room until she heard her mother go up to check on the other children. Returning to the kitchen, Dru peeked in and saw her dad sitting there with a thoughtful look.
With a couple of steps, Dru moved across the room and climbed up into her father's lap. She gave him a soft kiss on the cheek, and whispered, "It's okay daddy. You are doing a good job. Don't worry."
